    1. The photos wouldn't have worked so host the bokeh effect, Deborah. The background detail would have competed with the bird.

    1. I found out later this bird was a female, Margaret. She was sprucing herself up as on the final photo she was calling to a male who after I stopped taking photos succumbed to her charms.

    1. There were more actually, Dina. The photo was taken at Kirkham Priory where they were nesting in holes in the ruin.
